Pressure hoses for application of anhydrous ammonia into the soil

12.09.2015

Productivity growth in agriculture is directly associated with fertilizers use. Wide range of applications received such matter as nitrogen. The level of availability is one of the main factors of harvesting capacity.

Since the 30s of the last century they made attempts to study different ways to use nitrogen fertilizers, and finally it was found that one of the most effective fertilizers were anhydrous ammonia and ammonia water.

Anhydrous ammonia is characterized by the highest concentration of nitrogen (approximately 82%) and it is still very important – a high level of assimilation of nitrogen by plants.

Under normal conditions ammonia has a gaseous state. In order for it to become a liquid, it must be cooled to -33,5 ºC. However at this temperature it is inconvenient to transport, pressure is increased in the tanks for the liquefaction. Then at a pressure of 10.5 kg/cm2 ammonia becomes liquid with a temperature of 25 °C and at a pressure of 21.4 kg/cm2 – with a temperature of 50 °C.

The equipment for application of anhydrous ammonia into the soil consists essentially of the supply tank, the dispensing apparatus, with narrow furrow opener, tube attached to the back for the liquid or gas application to the bottom of the furrow and sometimes single furrow opener.

If we talk about specific models of equipment for application of anhydrous ammonia, should be noted such machines as PP-3000 and PZHU-3500-02, which are now most in demand:

  • PP-3000 – this is towing equipment for application of anhydrous ammonia, which is mounted on cultivators to combine the process of fertilizer with tillage.
  • PZHU -3500-02— this device is an applicator that is connected in the semi-trailer way to tractors of class 3 and ensures uninterrupted application of fertilizers into the soil.

We are the exclusive producers in Russia of hoses for application of anhydrous ammonia into the soil complex; our hoses have been specially designed for aggressive environment of applied fertilizer.

They are used as flexible pipelines for filling liquid ammonia to the refueling tanks, to connect gas cavities of tank and the unit at steam return method of refueling and supply of liquid ammonia from the pump to the working assemblies of the unit.

The hoses are manufactured with diameters from 12 mm to 50 mm and provide operation at ambient temperatures from minus 40 °C to plus 50 °C. In addition, Rubex Group hoses have a strength limit of at least 7,84MPa that provides reliable and uninterrupted operation of any machinery.
